Installing unzip from git

The unzip api  needs Jnext it seems. Get errormessage related to JNext when trying to run on simulator

How to install? I downloaded Jnext and run install and it installed on all browsers

Require Error Can't find /usr/lib/webplatform/plugins/jnext/unzipjnext.so Library cannot be found.

I have put the requirde information in the ext folder as per instructions. its just the jNext that should be "installed"

Re: Installing unzip from git

Has anyone succeeded in installating this tool?

I took a closer look at the error message. Build and deploy works without error messages.

Message below pops directly after B&D has finished before I even try to start my app.

Require Error Can't find

usr/lib/webplatform/plugins/jnext/unzipJnext.so

Library cannot be found

Very strange path indeed. dDoes not really exist.

unzipJnext.so is installed in framework\ext\community.unzip\simulator\

and

 framework\ext\community.unzip\device\

in the SDK in accordance with the instructions on Github

running SDK 1.0.4.11

Re: Installing unzip from git

Hello,

I don't think the *.so file downloaded from Github is compatible with simulators, only live devices.

Why? The SIM requires x86 binaries while live devices are ARM format.  Looking in Github, I see that author only provided the /device binaries.

You have two options:

1) Recompile the native extension yourself, but make sure that both Device-Release and Simulator-Debug build configurations are selected.  Full instructions on how to do this are here https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/BB10/Template (look for the 'Starting an Extension from the Template' section).

2) Open an issue in github and hope someone else publishes it for you

https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/BB10/UNZIP/output/community.unzip

I've bugged it for you

Just gonna install some SDKs for NDK and try getting you a sim version (I'll mail it you)

Re: Installing unzip from git

I replaced the .so file I got from "helpful peardox" and placed it in folder "simulator" on the same "level" as "device"

The same error persists:

I still have some kind of problem with jNext it seems  Actually the same error I have had all the time.

Packaging and deploy runs without problem. Att launch of app in simulator I get:

"Require Error  Cant find /usr/lib/webplatform/plugins/jnext/unzipJnext.so  Library cannot be found"

Strange path.  Why does it expect the unzipJnext.so file to be in a folder "jnext"
And that is not the only strange thing about the path.

Re: Installing unzip from git

Not sure about that one my friend

PM AStanley

I went on what I saw - even so far as to get you to rename the .so

I'll try diagnosing things a little later but at this particular moment you're out of luck

My Z10 just arrived :smileyhappy:

Re: Installing unzip from git

OK - I'm over the new device stuff now

Email be the source and I'll run it up on my Z10 so we at least know if it works or not

There are several reports regarding the SIM over extensions so the quick way to do it is to run it on a device

Playbook expected tomoz and MAY get you a Dev Alpha next week (it'll take a month to arrive)

Terrific!!

Downloading and write to disk works fine on ripple. On simulator I get an error message;

[object ProgressEvent]

??
