Is any form of audio compression supported for HTML5 on playbook?

Hello everyone,

I am new here. I am just wondering if there's anyway to compress recorded audio file for HTML5. The only audio format playbook supports is WAV which may be a little big in size.

Any suggestions?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Hi cuixu66,

According to the HTML5Test attached there is AAC and MP3 support.

Re: Is any form of audio compression supported for HTML5 on playbook?

Thank you, Jeff.

Let me rephrase my question:

I am trying to use the microphone on the playbook to record some audio input

According to the following website:

https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/html5/apis/blackberry.media.microphone.html

The microphone recording on playbook only supports WAV format.

The WAV format is too big for me. Is there anyway to compress the WAV files after recording?

Thanks!
