Keeping a BB10 WebWorks app "alive"

One of my major issues with the WebWorks platform is that an app stops running when:

  1. The screen dims after an idle timeout
  2. The application goes into the background

Sometimes, we want the app to remain active in this situation. There are ways to do this in the native SDK, but I understand a WebWorks application basically runs in a browser. Even with native extensions, it's not really clear to me how to accomplish this. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks.

You can use the run_when_backgrounded permit in config.xml.

JavaScript execution will continue while the app is thumbnailed.
