List of useful JavaScript libraries you can use

[ Edited ]

Hi everyone,

As I see it that many people repeatedely post to ask about some JS library to perfom some function in their apps, I thought about creating a small index of the main ones, grouped by categories. Next time someone asks, its easier if we just point to a complete list and the developer can choose for himself what better suits his needs.

Right now the list is at my blog: http://thebbthing.wordpress.com/javascript-libraries/ but if more people want to contribute to make it more detailed and updated, we can move it somewhere else.

Make some great apps! :smileywink:

Great idea. It would be interesting to also show device/Blackberry OS support for each of the frameworks.

Re: List of useful JavaScript libraries you can use

This is why I love the BlackBerry developer community. :smileyhappy:

nunodonato and I have been discussing a good way to compile this information. Unfortunately, we don't have a very good solution for a crowd-sourced WiKi for information.

Github is a great place for this, and it seems like there is potential to integrate nunodonato's initial post with the information on this Github page. While it's not "BlackBerry" branded, it sure does provide some useful information none the less.

Kudos to the community!

Re: List of useful JavaScript libraries you can use

that github page certainly looks great :smileyhappy:
A BB oriented one could perhaps notice the developers of compatibility issues with webworks, the pb browser, etc.
Anyway, I'll look into it with more detail soon! :smileyhappy:

I found that Google has release a whole bunch of usefull REST API's accesible through multiple clients, one of which is JavaaScript:

(this was a tweet from our @BBdevGroupNL account: )

Want to do something with Google and #WebWorks ? Try this: http://code.google.com/p/google-api-j … AND https://developers.google.com/apis-explorer/ … now #hack away on #BB10 ;-)

You can integrate with gret things rthrough this:

For instance the Calendar API  and Google+ api.

enjoy.
