Something I discovered yesterday by accidentally not killing my event tread was that a NDK extension continues to live after the webview and app are destroyed.
Now I've fixed my thread code I decided to try a sensible test
I simply stuck a sleep(60) in the thread termination code, ran the app and timed how long it took to go from icon-transparent to icon-opaque and got 63 seconds - my 60 plus the 3 system gives it
One issue here is to ask whether this 'feature' is going to be 'fixed' as technically it's a bug (however useful it may potentially be)
Even it termination just worked as advertized in the API this allows the potential of the highly desirable ability to save state onExit - the specific mechanics of which are, as yet, unknown
It'll give me something interesting to play with when bored / stuck / whatever in the next week (hopefully with positive results)
