One of my application requires that the device NOT go into standby mode after 5 minutes.
Default Tablet / Application Behavior:
After 90 second to 5 minutes, tablet goes into standby.
Desired Tablet / Application Behavior:
Case 1: User taps a button, which I call "prevent-standby", which sets variable in application to TRUE, after button tapped, application does not go into standby for an indefinite time (i.e. until "exit prevent standby" button tapped again).
Case 2: User sets time to prevent standby (i.e. 60 minutes, 2 hours, 3 hours, or x hours y minutes). Then taps button to enter "prevent-standby" mode for set time. Application exits "prevent standby" mode after set time.
Things To Consider
What Part of the WebWorks 2.0 API should I reference?
WebWorks 2.0 API Tablet OS
How would I implement prevent-standby?
If I wanted to launch the video camera in my application, how do I prevent standby on the video camera?
P.S. This will be used for a surveillance/video cam monitoring program. I believe there are many other use-cases that would benefit from preventing-standby as well....
