Problem Packaging First App

[ Edited ]

I'm trying to follow the packaging with Command Prompt instructions at.

https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/ww_developing/compile_ww_app_for_smartphones...

I've taken my application, added the config.xml file and icon.png, then zipped it and put it in the same location as the tutorial.

'C:\myapp\test.zip'

Then in Command Prompt I use the command in the tutorial.

'bbwp C:\myapp\test.zip -o C:\myapp\output'

I get back the following error...

Error: ENOENT, no such file or directory 'C:\myapp\output\src\config.xml'

What am I doing wrong?

Re: Problem Packaging First App

Hi Philip,

From what you've described, you are building the app in the correct way. Command line statement looks fine by me.

Note:

The ZIP should contain only those assets for your application with config.xml in the root of the ZIP.

Can you confirm that your ZIP is structured in this way?  The error message suggests the config.xml file might be in the wrong place.

e.g.

  • test.zip
    • config.xml
    • index.html
    • etc ...

Re: Problem Packaging First App

Hi Philip,

I Guess your ZIP file contains as TEST\TEST\Config.xml

Try chaning TEST\config.xml

Re: Problem Packaging First App

The problem was I was zipping the project folder rather then only zipping the contents of the project folder.

Re: Problem Packaging First App

This can also occur if your output folder is a system folder where

BlackBerry tools don't have write access.
So, best to put the output folder in your user path on your system.
