Question: Hybrid Mode Development

Is it possible to develop an app in hybrid mode for playbook? For example, use html 5 to drive UI, but use C++ for lower layer development? Creating a java script extension seems to serve this purpose to some extent, but it requires implementing some interface in Java. I'm not sure if it applies to the playbook platform.

Re: Question: Hybrid Mode Development

Hi ,

Currently webworks on playbook is implemented on top of AIR, meaning that JS extensions would expose AIR functionality. To get to native you would then need to make an AIR extension down to native.

What you're proposing could be done either in this way, or using some third party library with a C++ browser control.

One sweet day, webworks forplaybook will be built onto native and the process will be easier.
