No, that wasn't it. I wonder if the Dev Alpha can access any native features of the phone. Webwork app doesn't get the geolocation either. It would be nice if there was a BB10 "sample" on this site that can be downloaded on installed. This would prove to me that it is possible. Presently all the BB10 samples are no more functional than a sandboxed web browser app.
Its very off topic what I'm about to say. The Geo location does work BUT its really slow and takes forever (up to 10 minutes outdoors) to work. It's a dev alpha problem.
I should try getting the uuid in one of my apps. Will let you know.
