Re: Unable to sign keys

Hey Boss.

I just lived your pain...

Don't point to the "directory" where the CSI files are... you need to load the full path including the filename...

My commands:

G:\BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.3.1.5\bin>java -jar SignatureTool.jar G:\BlackBerry
Keys\client-RBB-1123123123123.csi
2012-04-25 21:48:23:0658 : SignatureTool Started
2012-04-25 21:48:36:0746 : SignatureTool Stopped

G:\BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.3.1.5\bin>java -jar SignatureTool.jar G:\BlackBerry
Keys\client-RCR-1123123123123.csi
2012-04-25 21:48:59:0023 : SignatureTool Started
2012-04-25 21:48:59:0210 : SignatureTool Stopped

Re: Unable to sign keys

Finally got it running!

I had followed the instructions to the T earlier. Requested new keys, followed the exact same steps. It didn't recognize them at first but I resigned the csi using the instructions on the bb site, this option didn't work earlier.

Thanks for all the help!

Re: Unable to sign keys

I am getting the error that 'java' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Any ideas?

Re: Unable to sign keys

Hi abiNerd,

Just a quick tip, it's generally best to create a new thread for new questions as some developers may look at a thread with multiple posts and assume it's already been answered; it also helps each thread stay on topic.

That being said, you'll need to ensure that JDK 1.6 32-bit is installed on your PC. You can confirm this by checking the contents of C:\Program Files (x86)\Java (assuming you are on a 64-bit machine.) There you should find jdk6 and jre6 folders. Note that you must use the 32-bit version of JDK 1.6.

If you are on a 32-bit machine, the path would simply be C:\Program Files\Java . You want to ensure that you do not have JDK7, or any 64-bit JDKs installed.

Once that is complete, you will also want to add C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_31\bin to your System Environment Variables (note that the actual path may differ based on your OS, and which update of JDK 1.6 you installed.)

You can use the most recent version of JDK 1.6, 32-bit.

Re: Unable to sign keys

Sorry about this... I'm not sure exactly where to post my question and I need help badly! I am using the Blackberry Java plug-in for eclipse and I have created a native application... I have the files you said I should look for except jdk6 (I only have jdk1.6.0_22)... I was trying to install the .csk files manually because every time I try to install them from eclipse I get the error: Unable to find sigtool.csk file - after I type in the information in the Signature Tool Registration box. I read that I should be prompted to create a new private key pair but that never happened... Please help me...

Re: Unable to sign keys

This link should help you out.

The signature key window disappears after receiving the private key prompt
