Web Application deployment process

Hi,

We have developed an application using Blackberry Web Plug-in (Eclipse). It runs fine in simulator environment. We have also created the WAR file.

Our questions are as follows:

1. What steps need to be taken to deploy the application to BES server?

2. Do we need any components need to be installed on mobile device?

Kindly help us with the procedure as we are not able to find any document relating to web based application deployement.

Best Regards,

Re: Web Application deployment process

Hi there,

I just wanted to confirm some items.

I'm assuming you have created a BlackBerry widget using the Eclipse plug-in version 2.0 Beta correct?

Or have you created a website that you wish to view using the BlackBerry Browser?

Re: Web Application deployment process

Dear Tneil,

1 . We are using the BB web Plugin version - BlackBerry_Web_Tools_1.0.0.200907241249-33

2. We are using Windows XP – 32 bit

3. Yes, we created a website(We have exported the project to WAR file) that we wish to view using the BlackBerry Browser

We need to know to deploy this WAR file, so that we can view it from our device(Blackberry, 8520).

Re: Web Application deployment process

All you should have to do is deploy your WAR file onto a web server that will run the website.  You can test to make sure that it is actively working using any browser such as firefox.

Then all you need to do is open the BlackBerry Browser on your device and type in the URL of your website.
