Web and WebWorks Development

Hi,

I'm a bit curious, because the application process for the "Built for BlackBerry" program obviously differs from how it is described (here for example).

Here's what I did:

1. Developed & finished my WebWorks application with all the checklist items in mind.
2. Submitted the app to the Vendor Portal for review.
3. After a couple of days: "Research In Motion is pleased to inform you that release '1.0' of your product [...] has been approved."
4. Meanwhile I hacked some improvements and a new feature and resubmitted a new version.
5. After a couple of days "Research In Motion is pleased to inform you that release '1.0.1' of your product [...] has been approved."

So far, so good.

Then I followed the path to "Built for BlackBerry":

1. Built a signed debug version
2. Added new release to the product
3. Entered "debug" in the following fields: "New in this release" and "File Bundle Name"
4. Submitted it for review (since it was the only option available)
5. After a couple of hours, I got the following E-Mail: "While processing your application, release '1.0.2' from your product [...] (ticket 730748), for inclusion into BlackBerry App World I encountered the following issue that requires your attention before we are able to continue. Please fix the following issue and resubmit your application as a new release. After installing your application on the BlackBerry Dev Alpha (OS version 10.0.9.1675), when the app launched, it displays this “Web Inspector Enabled” message with an “OK” option to dismiss it [...]"

Where is my mistake?

Did anybody of you guys here apply for the BfB program successfully?

Thanks for the link, but this article is not for us WebWorks devs, since we need to submit two builds of the same app (one regular and one debug version).

That was clarified in this more recent Dev Blog post: Create Debug Version of Webworks App.

However, the steps mentioned in that post aren't more detailed either...

Any updates?

Are you resubmitted successfully your app for B4BB or still have problems?

After tweeting about my issue, somebody manually reset the state of my "Denied" version to "Suspended" and told me my app is currently in the review process for BFB. ("Pending" eversince).

However, after reading all these "got denied without any (good) explanation given" messages in the BFB forum here, I'm not too confident my application will be successful...

Make sure you do not submit the debug version to BlackBerry World testing

Just left DEBUG release/filebundle in 'draft' mode
