WebWorks for Smartphone SDK v2.1.1 update - Web Inspector!

[ Edited ]

Hi folks,

The latest version of the WebWorks SDK for Smartphones is now available: version2.1.1.

As indicated in the blog post and release notes, this update provides an updated BlackBerry 7 simulator and some great new features available for you to use.

My personal favorite is you can now use Web Inspector to debug your BlackBerry Smartphone WebWorks applications!

Sincerely,

Adam

Your app doesn't work? Use BlackBerry remote web inspector to find out why.

Thank you for these improvements, they are well received here Smiley Happy and the Web Inspector is big plus! (a really big one). Debugging in WebWorks is maybe the biggest inconvenience of the platform and any efforts against this issue must be applauded.

I have a  question:

Have you made improvements in the HTML5 to Gears API Wrappers or these wrappers are the same javascript files that are available to download? I ask this because I ve had problems with the HTML 5 Database Wrapper.

Thank you again!

i got the port number from the blog post about Web Inspector for Playbook Tablet.

I built my app (for Smartphone) again with /d enabled, now i have the ip: 1.0.0.127:1338, which i can not open in my browser. I also tested with my laptop's ip, but still no luck.

It is pretty much the same as the one that was available for download.  All our DB test cases are passing, can you start a thread (or point us to an open one) that explains the DB problems you're experiencing?

This should work... Any chance your desktop firewall is blocking the port?

Updated but meeting a lot of issues

All my apps now flicker white when navigating between pages remote and local. It could be fixed in previous versions with a background color equal to the app background color.

Apps now get memory error more often than before! :-(

I have a background app that now just exits without any apparent reason (worked fine in previous versions)

I have yet to meet anything in the 2.1.1 that I actually need

Is it possible to debug webkit devices with 5.0?
