What does this mean for WebWorks? Blink!

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57577922-93/blink-googles-new-chrome-browser-engine-comes-to-life/

I believe WebWorks is more aligned with Chrome then WebKit, but I could be mistaken.

Re: What does this mean for WebWorks? Blink!

Even if BlackBerry was to switch to Blink, it wouldn't change anything for devs afaik. We would be using the same APIs and CSS markup. There might be advantages for BB to switch to that architecture, but only the Torch team knows what's best for the platform :smileyhappy:

Re: What does this mean for WebWorks? Blink!

Google has created a new fork of WebKit and to begin the Blink project.

If it is awesome enough, and continues to be open source, I expect it will grow cross-platform just like WebKit did.

I think it's (far) too early to speculate what other platforms, including BlackBerry, might do with Blink.

Question should be: What does this mean for WebWorks developers who develop/test/debug their apps with Google Chrome + Ripple ?

Re: What does this mean for WebWorks? Blink!

It will be a while before Blink based Chrome forces new features onto users and I suspect that by then there will be a "standard" webkit browser that we can all use.
