Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?

Hi everyone!

Spent this morning looking at the invoke samples for BB10, and was wondering if webworks will actually support the same kind of "flow" that we can get with native.

For now, invoking an app will open it as a separate one. There are a few lines regarding implementing "cards" in our apps, but not enough to make me understand :/

Will we get support to make a real card, which can be invoked from another app, and that supports "peek" back to its parent?

If this is impossible to achieve in WebWorks, then the "flow" experience is actually just limited to Cascades Smiley Sad

thanks

I also would like to know. Smiley Happy We can implement "flow" or layers of cards within our apps, but it would be great if all apps could be layered, regardless of the SDK used.

Re: Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?

I recently demoed creating a picture viewer card in webwork that can be invoked by other
Apps. I will submit my samples in a couple of days when I am back in Toronto and ping back on this thread.

I also show how to invoke other cascades cards from webworks

Invocation is runtime agnostic and webworks achieves the same flow that cascades apps do.

Re: Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?

You can use cards with your Web Works apps currently for things like the camera/filepicker, which open the card directly in your app - and they work amazingly!

There are some examples in the docs over here: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/apis/blackberry.invoke.card.html

Note that it's currently in 'beta', and being worked on still, but we've all been pretty impressed with how great it's working.

Re: Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?

Hi Nukul,

Yes, I know we can invoke cascades cards, I also tried that and works great. My question was more in the opposite scenario, making a webworks card available to other apps.
But I'll wait for your example Smiley Happy

thanks

Re: Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?

Yes my example will cover both sides.

You can create webworks apps and expose them a cards jst like native.

Re: Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?

Yes I know, I did that with the Invoker & Invokable examples.
But the difference is that the Invokable opens as a separate application, not as a card inside the Invoker.
That's what I was trying to say, sorry if it was not clear.

Re: Will WebWorks apps "Flow"?
