Hi folks,
I'm a developer that has been developing on Windows and NIX platforms for the better part of 10 years. However, mobile device development is new for me. I have experience developing Web Apps using HTML, JavaScript and PHP , as well as developing desktop applications using .NET, C++ and even Assembly.
I was originally drawn to the PlayBook because I heard that you can develop apps using HTML5 and JavaScript. However, I keep seeing references to Adobe AIR and that's where I get confused. What advantages does using Air offer as opposed to HTML5 + JavaScript only? To use AIR can you only use ActionScript in your coding or can you reference AIR components from within JavaScript? How much of the Playbooks features/functionality do I have access to in each API?
Thanks,
