bbUI does not meet BlackBerry 10 UI Guidelines...

My app was rejected because it does not meet BlackBerry 10 UI Guidelines...

It is fully built with bbUI.js with all standard BB10 UI screen elements

A bit funny isn't it? Whom should I blame to, Tim Neil or BFB test team? :-)

Dear Vendor,

Thank-you for your submission to the Built for BlackBerry program.

We can only give you some suggestions and we cannot guarantee that your application will make the BFB program.  The BFB program considers all apps submitted, however, the application who exhibit the best qualities in our criteria list are the ones who will be successful.

Having reviewed your application against the Built for BlackBerry program we are unable to accept the application at this present time based on the scope of its current functionality. We value your participation and would encourage you to re-apply with a future iteration of this application.

Specifically we found your application does not meet the criteria as outlined in user benefits and would encourage you to consider enhancements like:

Once issue(s) are been corrected, you are welcome to resubmit.

I guess all rejection emails are same. I am fine with the second reason but the first reason makes me laugh.

I think the problem has little to do with BBUI. I'm guessing the first reason is sent with every rejection.

You just need to add more value to your app. I found out at BBJE that they want the B4BB label to be associated with more than having pretty clothes.

Re: bbUI does not meet BlackBerry 10 UI Guidelines...

It'll be not using any BB service

The rules are very clear that you must use at last one and in the case of WebWorks you're rather limited as to what you can pick out of the list (BBM was about the only one until recently, not sure now)

The only exception to the UI and Service rules are games as they may not make sense in that kind of app

Having said that there was a really good session in Amsterdam where they explained how using BBM was worth it in just about any app = worth listening to if you've got a spare hour

So it is nothing to do UI? why they seriously listed it... and make people confused.

Re: bbUI does not meet BlackBerry 10 UI Guidelines...

A simple calling browser to open a URL is treated as service integration right?

I see no reason why a currency app needs to use BBM

Re: bbUI does not meet BlackBerry 10 UI Guidelines...

Nope - there's a list. You could stick an ad in it

  1. Service Integration - To qualify for the Program, with the exclusion of Gaming Apps (defined below), Apps must seamlessly integrate at least one of the following services (accessible at https://developer.blackberry.com/services/):

    • Payment Service
    • BBM Social Platform
    • Advertising Service
    • Analytics Service
    • Locate Service
    • Maps Service
    • Push Service (Make sure not to flood the notification system with application messages; only utilize the notification system to show messages that are critical/crucial to the end user.)

For the purposes of the Program, the following will also be accepted as a BlackBerry Service requirement:

    • Invocation Framework
    • Near Field Communication ("NFC")
    • Scoreloop

http://developer.blackberry.com/builtforblackberry/documentation/criteria/integration.html

For the purpose of the Built for BlackBerry program, the following will also be accepted as a BlackBerry Service requirement:

Invocation Framework
The Invocation Framework enables one application to request another to perform a specific task which streamlines the communication between the apps and provides a consistently smooth and jitter-free user experience.

A browser invoke to open a URL does not match the defination?
