I just got a new pearl, however it doesn't have the internet browser on the home screen. I went to tmobile and they said to download the blackberry desktop manager, and then run the application manager to get it. I did this, but when I opened the application manager all it says is "the Blackberry desktop software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator."
Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this, or at least get internet onto my device? Thanks!

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
First thing first, please post your thread in the correct topic in the further, this is for Welcome and Intro. You may want to post this thread in BlackBerry® Smartphones and Accessories > BlackBerry 8100 Series Smartphone - BlackBerry Pearl
To answer your question, you cannot install Blackberry Internet Browser, your carrier has to give you access and RIM will send you a particular service book to your BB to enable that service.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
First you have to have a data plan for the browser to work
send your self a PIN message, if you get your data plan is in place and you can follow the
directions below. Iy you don't receive the PIN message you either do not have a data plan
or you carrier does not have your options set correctly
No data will be lost when doing the following: pull the battery while the device is ON.
Replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't work :
Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now.
You will get a verification email. Then go to email settings and send service books.
Some models like the Curve 8330 and Pearl require logging into the carriers BIS site
via PC.
You will get an email per account. Repeat the battery pull and see if the problem is
resolved.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Bifocals
