How can I leave the forum please?
I no longer have a blackberry.

I am not sure I totally understand your question.
One thing would be not to log in to the forum?
Are you getting unwanted emails?

We don't delete any forum accounts. By not signing into the forums, the account will just become inactive.

Thanks on both replies.
I bought an unlocked BB and found I couldn't get more than partial functionality.
Kind regards

Thanks KaLin - that i s what I was thinking.... just wanted to make sure
John, I hate that you were not able to get the use out of the BlackBerry that you wanted. They are great devices. Come back and visit if you change your mind.

Yes, me too.
I was looking forward to it.
But what can you do when you buy it unlocked and then your carrier tells you they can't give you BIS?
So I had to return it.
Oh well, we live & learn, but you'd think that people selling unlocked BBerries should warn propsective buyers to check with their carrier first whether they can provide BIS.
btw Virgin told me they could have provided it had I purchased the phone from them!

John

Sellers are out to make a buck. it is sad they dont tell you upfront about the hassles you can run into.

Indeed.
In the end a simple message such as
"Please check with your carrier if you can get full functionality before purchasing" would do the trick.
With Virgin there seem to be two no's, viz:
(a) No-because-you-didn't-get-it-from-us and
(b) No-Not-Noway-Nohow (as in a Palm Smartphone)

If you're in England, you may have heard the news item yesterday about the scandalous practice of smartphone sellers in general. They may sell one, and if they poor customer gets home and finds it doesn't work in his area, it's just tough luck! They are thinking of forcing sellers to make the customer more aware, and offer recompense if things go wrong.
Yes, this forum has been fun enough, even without a BBerry! ![]()
PS: I go to India for some time most years. Would it work there?
