new bb owner...

Hi !  I m melissa, and i just get the blackberry storm, and i love it. i can t wait to start downloading games. the only thing i found very dissapointing is that i bought it with the belief that my texting capabilities would be bigger... it s the reason i got a blackberry... as far as i know the other phones can go up to 160 characters (with up to six messages as an option) i was frustrated to find the storm has only 140 character !!! and u can send only one message a t a time. i know that other blackberry phones do this i had no reason to believe the storm could not,  so that is pretty much the only downside i found... as for the rest it s all good.   :smileywink:

Welc:smileyhappy:me to the c:smileyhappy:mmunity supp:smileyhappy:rt f:smileyhappy:rums

There is an application you can purchase for a low price that will enable you to SMS longer than 160. Are you Verizon? Verizon limits their customers to only 160.  I have emailed a friend to see if they remember the name.

A thought is to use the MMS as your text message and you can text longer.

Enj:smileyhappy:y your BlackBerry!

Re: new bb owner...

Melissa, the 160 character limit is actuall a limitation Verizon places on their BlackBerrys.

All other carrers (well most) allow up to 1,000 characters, which is actually  6 SMS messages combined to one.

There is a reason it is a called SMS = Short Message Service.

Make the message short!
