I had zero interest in tablets till I seen the PlayBook. When I seen the iPad I just kind of laughed.
I agree at this point, had no interest in tablets eighter til i saw Blackberry. It was Mark Doherty who presented it to us at a event. He told that if an app is made then there is a chance for getting one for free.

Ryan from CES stated that at first installing apps will only work via App World but they plan on later adding third party sources for apps. It's in the video with Kevin from crackberry. I'll try to dig up a link!

it's just an assumption, maybe they are shipping it with cash on delivery.

Regarding the distribution of apps outside of AppWorld, the CrackBerry team asked RIM at CES (as they use Mobihand for their own app store).
I think the answer was somethign like "We'll be looking into it," which is as vague as it could be
I think they should seriously consider it as this is one of the #1 reasons why OSes get hacked.
