I submitted my 3rd app about a month ago (26th of september) and it's still pending review. I send an email to BlackBerryAppWorldRequests@rim.com to ask if there're a problem or something about my app and I don't get any answer. As my other app have been validated quickly I wonder wether this delay is normal and if not what can I do ?
Are there things in an app that make the approval longer ?
Is the email the right one to ask question about app approval ?

The app is called "Funny Quotes".
Basically it read a RSS feed and display it as a list (public rss from qdb http://www.qdb.us/), You can also publish the quote on Facebook and twitter.

Finnally I get an answer :
We are sorry but your request for 'Funny Quotes' to be a product in the BlackBerry® App World™ has been denied for the following reasons :
we don’t accept content of this mature at this time.
It's not very precise. Do you get this kind of answer before ? is it about gui ? user generated content ? I'm ready to modify my app to feet the "rule" but I have to know what is wrong.

From what i see on the website from where you get quotes the problem is "mature language".
For example (a random quote) :
<Tarkaan> holy **bleep**
<Tarkaan> my electrical guy is here
<Tarkaan> and my elec was all retarded
<Tarkaan> fuses bridged with copper wire
<Tarkaan> he's replacing that **bleep** with breakers
<Tarkaan> so I don't **bleep**ing die
<ionine_> Tarkaan, did he tell you to hold two wires while he makes a bowtie?
<Tarkaan> I'm not falling for that again
Words as "**bleep**", "**bleep**ing"..etc are considered mature language therefore it seems RIM does not wanna such language at the moment. What you can do is to find a new source (where you can filter by content) or implement a filter so you remove such quotes yourself.
I think (personal oppinion) if you make a replace filter inside your app to replace words like "**bleep**" to "******" will be enought.
But you should ask appworld dev team (someone mentioned twitter) how to proceed.

Wow, actualy this forum have such filter as well :-)
"**bleep**" was ... well.. something durty :-)
I am sure that if you implement such filter and you point this forum as example this will do the work.

Thanks for the answer, I'll see the way to go
On other market there're an kind of opt-in "I'm xx years old" but I don't see it on appworld (and I don't notice it before you talk about it).
Last question, does an official list of forbidden words exist or I have to make a wide range guess ?

I am not sure that there is "official list" but you can start with this one :
Surely if you google more deeply into that you will find more complete lists that you can use.
