BB10 Air SDK beta available

[ Edited ]

After posting on another thread about Stage3D and some text changes on the SDK downloads page I stumbled on the BB10 beta AIR SDK download page.

https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/air/beta/download/sdk/

The BlackBerry 10 SDK for Adobe AIR lets you:

  • Easily adapt and deploy existing Adobe AIR/Flash content.
  • Access Native API's with Adobe AIR Native Extensions.
  • Create rich animations and 3D graphics with Stage3D   Maybe one day.......
  • Build applications with a Native BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha look and feel.

Can't wait to check it out.....

And "Powerflasher FDT now officially supported by the BlackBerry 10 SDK for Adobe AIR"?? That is a great thing!

Unfortunately Stage3D support is not there yet. They corrected the page. It's almost like riding a roller-coaster of expectations.
Cheers!

Wow!

I've tested my app PlayEpub on new BB10 simulator and loads fine!

I got some obvious screensize issues, but it seems everything works fine!

Yeah, forgot to update the post (did the other thread about it though) - changed it now so people don't get too excited.

Re: BB10 Air SDK beta available

In terms of configuration, I have FB 4.6 and AIR SDK 2 something. Can I run FB with both SDK's or (BB10 beta)?

Any clarification on how the dev environment should be set up to handle both SDKs would be great.

Thanks!

Re: BB10 Air SDK beta available

After installing the beta sdk and integrating with flash builder 4.6 on a mac, I get errors with the hello world example - qnx.dialog is not found.

qnx.fuse and qnx.display both import ok.

Also, AIR SDK 2 was previously installed on this machine. Is there a way to remove it?

Re: BB10 Air SDK beta available

Hi!

I've detected an issue that blocks me testing my app.

I can not download any file from the browser and as my app is a book reader, I can not fully test it Smiley Tongue. It shows the Save as dialog but then nothing happens and the "downloads" button is disabled.

I have also an integrated stagewebview that fires events of page loaded but nothing is shown.

My apps for Playbook: PlayEpub Book Reader with epub and FB2 support, Google Reader, ReaditLater - Net Files Share Explorer Get access to your network shared files- FFSync Sync your Firefox bookmarks and passwords

qnx.dialog is not implemented as a native extension and you need to add the QNXDevice.ane and QNXSkins.ane to make it work. Look at step #8 in the documentation

https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/air/beta/documentation/aa_getting_started_bb10/Create_your_first...

make sure you check the "package" option (checkbox) otherwise it wont work
