Category in XML?

What should I put under category in the xml? It is currently set as core.all?

And what does it actually do changing it? What is it for?

Re: Category in XML?

Your choices are core.games, core.media, or leaving it out.  For now.

It controls which category "tab" the app shows up in on the Navigator page in the tablet.  All apps show up in "All" (and you'll get an unwanted duplicate if you use "core.all" so don't, though this may be only in the simulator).  There are also going to be Games and Media categories.  Possibly others, though nothing official has been said.  Recent videos show "Favorites" which we assume you can populate with your own stuff (dragging from other categories?), and "BlackBerry Bridge" (which comes and goes as you bridge to a BB phone).

My app was neither a game nor a "media" app, so I left the <category> element out entirely.  Judging only by the title of "ARTPAD", I think you should do the same.
