Re: Code Signing and App Review process improvements

What step is not working?

I've been thru the process twice (deleted a registration so I had to do it again from scratch).  The current process is a total pain, but I was able to get thru it.  Anything we can do to help?

What OS are you on?

Are you referenceing the correct 093 bin directory?

I ran into countless error messages. The most recent is: "barsigner error: cannot create application data directory" (no forum hits for this error).

Here's what I did (in the second last step of this tutorial):

PS C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks Packager for PlayBook\bbwp\blackberry-tablet-sdk\bin> blackberry-signer -verbose -cskpass SECRET -keystore C:\Users\stiffel\Desktop\signing\biggerCC.p12 -storepass SECRET C:\Users\stiffel\Desktop\ICE.bar RDK

(where SECRET is a placeholder only)

Re: Code Signing and App Review process improvements

Try putting the P12 file in the bin directory of the SDK.

If that does not work, try reversing the command so you are in the directory of the project where the BAR file will be created.

"C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks Packager for PlayBook\bbwp\blackberry-tablet-sdk\bin\blackberry-signer" -verbose -cskpass XXXXXX -keystore "C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks Packager for PlayBook\bbwp\blackberry-tablet-sdk\bin\biggerCC.p12" -storepass XXXXXX ICE.bar RDK

hey biggerCC,

also try running your command prompt in admin mode (even if you are an administrator). Right Click > Run as Admin. good luck!

Re: Code Signing and App Review process improvements

When I submitted my app I did NOT see any options to add bundles, or min OS or device support? Are their two vendor portals?  I clicked on manage products, then had a 5 step process of fill out description and icons and info. But did not see a place to upload my signed .bar?

What did I do wrong?

Re: Code Signing and App Review process improvements

hey tacory,

in the vendor portal go to "Manage Applications" on the left and then select the plus sign under releases in the table that shows up. that'll show you the rest of the way. good luck!

Re: Code Signing and App Review process improvements

Thanks jtegen, changing the working directory to where my .bar is worked.

Anyhow: RIM cannot be serious about this "process".

Unluckily the famous sniveler Jamie didn't get that far with his development. And I guess my whines in the forums will get ignored...
