(I haven't tried this personally, so it may or may not work, but logically, it should.)

You shouldn't have to wait on an SDK update for this. QNXStageWebView is available now. This capability for AIR on the desktop works by including an HTMLLoader in the SWF wrapper. As long as the application files are in your application's directory, they should load into the application domain just as they do if you're loading them through ActionScript - HTML, images and JavaScript included.

Just write an ActionScript wrapper to use as your application's executable. It only has to include an instance of QNXStageWebView that loads your application's index.html file (5-6 lines of code max?). The rest should be just like developing for AIR on the desktop.

There is one disadvantage to not waiting -- AIR on the desktop includes an AIR specific JavaScript file that calls the ActionScript methods for working with the file system and other AIR capabilities (air.function.whatever). I don't know if that file will work completely with the PlayBook, but it may since a lot of the PlayBook SDK is native AIR stuff.

If you want to continue waiting, again, a lot of the PlayBook SDK is regular AIR, you could maybe start writing it for the normal desktop player and when official support is announced, make the needed tweaks, if there are any.
