Default install directory for SIM v1.0.1 (windows 7) - permissions issue

[ Edited ]

UPDATE: This issue has been noted on the Release Notes

As you might notice, the new SIM gets installed as a VM ready to go.

Just wanted to point out that, under windows 7, the Sim installer prompts you to install the simulator under Program Files. Depending on your permissions settings, you might not have the rights to Modify the files/folders thus resulting in an error when trying to load the VM in VMWare.

You can prevent this from ever happening by choosing an install directory you've got access to (i.e. your Documents folder).

If you've already installed it and do not want to modify the permissions on Program Files, just copy the folder BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-1.0.1 from Research In Motion in Program Files to one of your folders.

Hope this helps.

Thanks B2G.... I came up short in the RTFM gene department so didn't see this.

Best regards,
