[Error] 1119: Access of possibly undefined property keyboardType...

Hello,

I hope that someone can help me with the following problem. When I want to assign a keyboard type to a text field, it gives me this error.

<location>App.as,
Line 14	1119: Access of possibly undefined property keyboardType through a reference with static type fl.controls:TextInput.

<location>App.as, Line 14	1119: Access of possibly undefined property keyboardType through a reference with static type fl.controls:TextInput

 This is my line 14:

TextField2.keyboardType = KeyboardType.PIN;

I created the text field within Adobe Flash Professional CS5.

I would be really pleased if someone could explain how to fix this, and also maybe to post a fix.

Thanks in advance,

Mujib

Are you using the QNX text input control?

If using this means that, yes.

import qnx.ui.text.TextInput;

I tested th eline in my AS3 code and it worked fine.  Reason I feel that it is a non QNX control is that the error has

fl.controls

In it, which is not QNX.  Could you have both define and the instantiation of your text input is not QNX.  Just guessing here.

Could you show me the lines where you test this, and how to use it as a QNX thingy.

I would really appriciate that.

Are you importing qnx.ui.text.KeyboardType? As jtegen also pointed out, where is the fl.controls coming from?

This webcast might help you out a little more as well. My First App.

Re: [Error] 1119: Access of possibly undefined property keyboardType...

I am importing it using:

import qnx.ui.text.KeyboardType;

 I think that fl.control becomes clear here:

What values should I change it to?

The QNX text input is from:

import qnx.ui.text.TextInput;

Re: [Error] 1119: Access of possibly undefined property keyboardType...

This is all I am importing

	import flash.display.Sprite;
	import flash.events.MouseEvent;
	import qnx.ui.text.KeyboardType;
	import qnx.ui.text.TextInput;

Then I am not understanding the dialog window you show with the "fl..." values.  Maybe change that to the qnx path.
