Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

I've run into another debug token issue. I was able to create a new token and upload to my device fine, but when I try and run any build on the device, I get this error:

"Error occurred while packaging the application:
Packaging failed:1Error: Unknown option: -debugToken"

Any ideas what might be the cause?

The SDK wouldn't integrate properly with Flash Builder, so I had to install using the update site, then manually install the sdks. Maybe related? The other Blackberry SDK features (signing and such) work fine in Flash Builder.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Hello srlake,

In regards to your issue, how are you trying to deploy the application. Is it through commandline, or through Adobe Flash Builder 4.5.1?

Additionally do you filled in the appropriate information in the <author> and <authorId> tags of your blackberry-tablet.xml file.

Looking forward to your reply.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Hi Raihan,

I'm deploying through Flash Builder 4.5.1. This was never an issue with Burrito before. The author and authorID fields are indeed correct.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Hello srlake,

Thank you for your reply.

Can you attach a screenshot of the error message you are getting. Can you also attach your blackberry-tablet.xml and your <applicationname>-app.xml file.

Looking forward to your reply.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Hello leavelib,

Are you using Windows 7 for your development or a Mac. If you are using Windows 7, can you disable UAC and see if you run into this issue.

Looking forward to your reply.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

I am running Mac OSX Lion - is this a minority platform for Adobe AIR? Am I swimming upstream? Should I swithch to Windows? I have had a LOT of problems with running and debugging on real tablet. Simulator works OK. Debug certificates are a nightmare - can't imagine signing an actual app will be any easier.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Thanks leavelib for the info.

Can you copy and paste the command line parameters that utilize -debugToken and the documentation you are using which refers to the usage of -debugToken. If you are using Flash Builder 4.5.1, can you narrate your steps for deploying your debug token accompanied with screenshots of the steps that reproduces this error.

Can you also tell me the version of the SDK along with what development tool are you using to package and deploy your application.

Looking forward to your reply.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Sorry it may not have been clear. I am not using any command line interfaces.

I am using FB 5.4.1, and any -debugToken must have been generated by the tool in packaging the application for launch. As far as the SDK, I may have been using 1.0.1. I managed to completely disable my FB when I tried to upgrade it. I have since reinstalled the whole thing and successfully upgraded it to the 1.1.0 SDK. I am going to attempt to launch the hello world app once I get it going on the simulator. I want to package a simple test app for launch without errors. If this does not work I will ask for a new certificate from RIM, and I will be very careful to write down password and company name etc.

Just to be clear, it is my understanding that the error message I got was a packaging error BEFORE launch, and so it is not connected with me possibly messing up when I asked for certificate from RIM signing authority.

Re: Error: Unknown option: -debugToken

Please note: I am carefully following the instructions laid out in this document for installation:

BlackBerry_Tablet_OS_SDK_for_Adobe_AIR-Getting_Started_Guide_for_Mac_Developers--1714771-0617023543-001-1.1-US.pdf

and in this document for certificate stuff:

packaging-air-apps-blackberry.html

When I tried to run my Hello World app, this is what packager said:

Error: AIR validation failed

Error occurred while packaging the application:
