Re: Identical hardware to retail? Retail box?

Nice to see an actual date. I can go back to developing now.

Being Friday is a bank holiday in the UK, and the whole of the next 2 weeks being filled up with more bank holidays, I'm expecting to get my Playbook by August if I'm lucky

Re: Free BlackBerry PlayBook Ship Date

I was wondering why they've chosen 22 of April for shipping anything at all; that day is not only Friday (end of 'working week'), it's also the beginning of the Easter weekend Smiley Very Happy

But it's great to hear that our lovely little Playbooks are coming to us!

Re: Free BlackBerry PlayBook Ship Date

Aw rats, I won't have my shiny new PlayBook for my Easter trip to the in-laws.  Now they will ooh and ahh over my wife's iPad instead of having something reaallly special to look at.  Smiley Wink

Like everyone else here, I am glad we have a date and I can stop waking up in the middle of the night everytime my phone buzzes with a new email.

Re: Free BlackBerry PlayBook Ship Date

Hi,

Quick question -  my app was approved few months back, suddenly few days ago I got message it was denied becuase the icon is "incorrect".. I submitted a new version with "correct" icon .. does it mean that I won't get the playbook?

Thanks ..

Udi

Re: Free BlackBerry PlayBook Ship Date

Udik, a quick search of the forums would let you know that you are definitely still eligible for the free playbook as you submitted before the deadline.

Re: Free BlackBerry PlayBook Ship Date

I must say I'm a tad disappointed here. I have friends already having playbooks in hand and we are still waiting. It would have been nice for RIM to show the developers who worked long and hard to get apps ready; that it did matter and maybe give us a little time out of the gate to see how our apps are reacting on the playbook instead of the simulator.

Hi Mark,

I was wondering if the hardware will be of identical quality to the retail Playbooks? Will we receive a 16GB retail box?

Could you please confirm.. it would bring so much peace of mind to everyone anxiously waiting. Smiley Happy

Yes, it is the same package you would get at a retail outlet.
