Currently am working on a project where i need to show current battery level and time required to charge the phone. I got the current battery level. I couldn't think of anything to calculate the time..?

I am confusd with showing standy by time..??
Does these apps which shows battery stand by time calculate stand by time at the time of install itself of after some time..?? As u said it would take some time to see what's all eating up battery.. So i need to know if these apps shows time after some time say one hour or it shows right after installing them
