Re: How to delete app?

Run blackberry-deploy app without options, it will give a help (specifically -uninstallApp)

RIM should have really documented SDK before releasing it!

Re: How to delete app?

To remove from the Flash builder GUI:

In the Flash builder "Run Configurations" for the "BlackBerry Tablet Air Application", there is a deployment area. The "Deployment method" drop-down can be changed to "Uninstall". Running with this configuration will cause the application to be removed from the VM.

Re: How to delete app?

I followed this instructions:

1. Open a command prompt
2. Navigate to folder where output_bar_file_name was created (Example: ..\AIRHelloWorld\bin-debug)
3. Type the following command to uninstall your application:

blackberry-deploy -package BAR_FILENAME.bar -uninstallApp -device IP_ADDRESS -password DEVICE_PASSWORD

Re: How to delete app?

I've deleted the source code folder from my PC for an App, how do I delete the app from the Playbook simulator?

Re: How to delete app?

If you don't know package Id of the program you cannot uninstall it, but if you create an application with the same name (fully qualified name) it will overwrite it.

Re: How to delete app?

I am trying to uninstall an app using the command line:

blackberry-airpackager -uninstallApp bar_file_name -device IP_address

but I get an error "Error: Unknown option: -uninstallApp"

there appears to be no uninstallApp option for me when viweing the options for blackberry-airpackager (by running without any switches)

what gives?

Re: How to delete app?

Try

blackberry-deploy -uninstallApp -device <IP> -package-id <ID>

Let us know if that works.

Re: How to delete app?

Hi John

Thanks for the input. So the docs need to be ammended to use the correct command Smiley Happy

I am a step closer in that I am not getting errors on the commandline, but still not quite there. I used your command, and this is what I get:

D:\>blackberry-deploy -uninstallApp -device 192.168.80.128 -package-id BPBAIRHelloWorld.bar
Action: Uninstall
Uninstalling BPBAIRHelloWorld.bar...
actual_dname::
actual_id::BPBAIRHelloWorld.bar
actual_version::
result::success

But the end result is that the app is still showing in the simulator. (I tried restarting the VM etc)

I have tried with and without the .bar extension, and that made me think that perhaps the uninstall app was not actually telling me the right thing. I tried with a made up package-id which did not exist on the Simulator, and it still told me it was successful:

D:\>blackberry-deploy -uninstallApp -device 192.168.80.128 -package-id crazyname

Action: Uninstall

Uninstalling crazyname...

actual_dname::

actual_id::crazyname

actual_version::

result::success

So, this is bad.... Further help?

Re: How to delete app?

Did you try the id of the application? The reverse DNS defined in the *-app.xml file of the id field?
