How to space out pictures from text in an RSS feed

Hi all,

I'm building an app and part of it reads news feeds via an RSS XML. I followed this tutorial, http://alaashaker.wordpress.com/2008/09/09/build-your-own-flash-rss-reader-tutorial-flash-actionscri... , and the information comes in and loads on screen; but when it shows up some text gets cut off. I believe it is on the side of the image but is only visible if I stretch the text area. Is there any way to change this ? I have attached a pictureto show the problemproblem.png

Thanks for taking a look!

Your screen is really confusing.
Did you check if the textarea-bounds are inside the displayed stage?

The image is loaded in to a Bitmap ro something?

Just reposition stuff on the Stage ( i see you are using Flash, by the tutorial)

You can also determin what is the size if the displayed image.

There is. You should load the feed in to a "complex item renderer" That holds an image + text + some other stuff like buttons or media players. And then you will be able to position stuff your self.

You can also but a line brake char \n infront of the text ( a couple actualy).

I just did a quick google for a complex item renderer but the only information I can find deals with flex. Any idea of going about this in flash cs5?

Re: How to space out pictures from text in an RSS feed

there is no such component.

The meaning is to create a:

Lets say a Sprite that holds a Text and Image and positions them in a way that will suit your UI.
