I can really use some help!

I have an app on the blackberry playbook that I just created an update for today. Before launching the update, I wanted to know is there a way to avoid loosing information after downloading the update. In other words, if I have the app and choose to download the update will I loose all previous information that was entered into the app?

Re: I can really use some help!

Your settings typically persist on an update, but what happens if your users delete the app and later download an update?  Unless you have written your app to always store its settings in the shared data area (i.e. not in the application storage directory), or included a feature to allow the user to export data stored in the application storage directory over to the shared area, then in that case application info/settings/etc. will get lost.
