I am not trying to single out this developer Kudos to you for getting the app accepted to the app world but I thought simple apps that play sounds are not allowed such as this Fart App!
PlayBook offer terms state :
The following categories of applications are specifically excluded from eligibility for the Offer:
(c) Applications that provide a simple, single function, such as playing noise or displaying a graphic.
Maybe the application plays 50 random fart sounds.. So it does qualify because its not only 1 sound?
Just Because the app was accepted does it mean that this person gets a free PlayBook?

It's very clear that "approved for App World" and "eligible for free tablet" are two different things. You need both to get the PlayBook, but only the first to list your app for sale or download.
So far, if anyone has had their app approved but been told explicitly that it's not eligible, they haven't reported it in this forum, or anywhere else public.

I'm more shocked he isn't charging for it. As stupid as these apps are, and as much as they can waste space in an app store, average consumers love them and will pay for them. Which is a real shame.

There is a difference between being accepted to App World and getting accepted for the free PlayBook offer.
While this developer did create a fart app and get it accepted, it is extremely unlikely that they will receive a PlayBook due to the terms and conditions.

Hey, how else is AppWorld and the Playbook going to compete and succeed if there are no farting apps?
I mean really... isn't that how Apple made such a success?
