Any news on this? I am very keen to get a multi-line text area in my application. The spark controls don't seem to work, and the caveats mentioned above don't sound great either...

There is a basic one in the community library, plus the new RIM framework has one (but I have not tried it yet).

And when you say "new framework" are you referring to version 2.0 of the SDK which is still in beta? Or is this something else that me (and the previous poster @zezke) seem to have missed?
