Port AIR App to iOS or Android

So I have written a game for the PlayBook using the Adobe AIR and would like to port it over to iOS or Android, does anyone know how to do this? Is it hard?

Thanks for any ideas!

Re: Port AIR App to iOS or Android

I'm not sure exactly how it works in Flash Builder, but in Flash Pro so long as you aren't using any QNX stuff, it should simply be a matter of changing publish settings to the relevant platform and republishing. Of course you will have to have taken care of resizing and test on the new platforms to make sure that nothing gets broken in the process.

Re: Port AIR App to iOS or Android

Actually, you can even use some QNX components if you import the right swc files. You can't use dialogues or the swipe events and probably other things but you can use things like buttons.

In Flash Pro just go File>ActionScript Settings...     go to the 'Library path' tab  then click on the plus button that says 'Add New Path' then click on the flash icon button that says 'Browse to SWC file'   and browse to 'qnx-air.swc' in the SDK. Repeat that proccess to import 'qnx-screen.swc' as well.

You can experiment to see what QNX components work and you could try importing other SWCs as well.

Re: Port AIR App to iOS or Android

You can use command line with Adobe AIR 2.6 SDK to port your AIR app into iOS. And the good news is iOS app generated from AIR 2.6 SDK has good performance especially about the frame rate. It is better than flash packager for iPhone. Here is what I did to port AIR app into iOS platform : http://zawa.blogsome.com/2011/04/18/package-for-ios-device-with-adobe-air-26/

Re: Port AIR App to iOS or Android

@bba:  Adobe is about to release Flash Builder 4.5 which can do just what you are asking.  I think they will have all three (Android, iOS, BlackBerry Tablet OS) available by June.
