Re: Problem deploying unsigned bar on device (with debug token)

[ Edited ]

Here is an example of a valid command to deploy. Substitute filename, ip address and password for yours.

blackberry-deploy -package yourFile.bar-device 192.168.1.2 -installApp -password yourPassword

If it can't connect make sure the device is in developer mode and is accessible from your PC.

Re: Problem deploying unsigned bar on device (with debug token)

Another quick question - do I need the debug token for signed bar files? I don't have the debug token installed yet ..

No, debug tokens are not needed if you sign your application.

They allow you to run unsigned applications you create.

I just got this working after many failed attempts. For those asking, here are my command line scripts...

blackberry-airpackager -devMode -package myapp.bar myapp-app.xml myapp.swf blackberry-tablet-icon.png blackberry-tablet.xml

blackberry-deploy -package myapp.bar -device 169.254.231.113 -installApp -password playbook

Thanks for the link.  Looks like that has already been corrected.

Re: Problem deploying unsigned bar on device (with debug token)

How did you manage to do this without signing the app? I still get the error.

Re: Problem deploying unsigned bar on device (with debug token)

Just to close off this thread for anyone searching for similar issues, I'd start here next time:

RIM has put together a great little video tutorial on debug and signing tokens.  Wish I had it when I was going through this....  pay VERY close attention to it and you should be fine.  One of the problems I had was using different passwords for my signing, CSK (both debug and signing) and p12 keys.  The utilities are pretty unforgiving of any mistakes.  Follow his instructions to the letter and you should be fine.  Good luck.
