Seperate Splash screen for Landscape / Portrait launches

Is it possible to specify seperate splash screen images for landscape and portrait app launches?

Re: Seperate Splash screen for Landscape / Portrait launches

As there is only one option for the splashscreen in your blackberry-tablet.xml

<splashscreen>yoursplash.png</splashscreen>

this is not possible at the moment.

It would be nice if they just centered the image you give them...

Re: Seperate Splash screen for Landscape / Portrait launches

I'm pretty sure in a later release there will be support for alternate splash images, or auto-centering (and proportional scaling) for an appropriately sized image.  I say that because even the default splash image looks terrible when you've rotated:  (image will appear after moderator approval)

Wow. That streching looks terrible.

Yep, but we can at least be thankful they got a simulator to us that has some semblance of orientation support.  If they'd waited until they made it appear flawless, we probably wouldn't have seen it until the launch date.

Getting Spalsh Screen to Load

I have :

<splashscreen>assets/splash.png</splashscreen>

In my blackberry-tablet.xml file, I event include the URI of the file in the blackberry-airpackager command, but it does not show.  The file is in my bin-debug/assets directory.  I checked the BAR file and it is in there too. Anyone have an idea of where the file should be?

Thanks,

Hi,

    I just dropped it in with the rest of my files (no special subdirectories) and as such had just the filename in the blackberry-tablet.xml file.  I gather from your issue that is the only place the simulator will find it.

Re: Getting Spalsh Screen to Load

I moved the splash.png file to the /src directory and I still get the default BB splash screen at launch.  Here is my blackberry-tablet.xml file:

<qnx>
  <initialWindow>
    <systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
    <transparent>true</transparent>
  </initialWindow>
  <publisher>O2 Interactive</publisher>
  <splashscreen>splash.png</splashscreen>
  <category>core.utils</category>
  <icon>
  	<image>bob.png</image>
  </icon>
</qnx>

 The file is a 1024 x 600 PNG file.

Any recommendations/testing ideas is appreciated.

Re: Getting Spalsh Screen to Load

Move it back to one of the /bin directories where it will be included in the BAR file.
