Simulator UI

Hi,

This has no relationship to the actual PlayBook unit, of course, but...

Can the simulator be tweaked for a larger mouse cursor and faster movement?  It would facilitate application testing significantly if the cursor was easier to find and to move it where it needs to be.

Re: Simulator UI

In terms of automated testing, there is a fair amount available on the Flash/Flex/AIR side.  Obviously does not help you on simulator specific items, but some inventive developer out there could create an AIR application to simulate device events to an BB/AIR application (outside of the simulator), that would spped up automated testing for things like GPS, accelerometer, etc.

Re: Simulator UI

Not that it matters too much, but does the final device even have a cursor/pointer?  Figure any finger would obscure the cursor/pointer anyway.

Re: Simulator UI

hah i doubt the playbook is going to have a cursor going around on screen. that'd seem a little backwards to me. i think harry just wanted a way to replicate fast hands/fingers as you would have in the real world testing of the playbook. the simulator is kind of slow i agree when it comes to testing out finger movements. it'd be cool if in the simulator you could have a huge circle about 50 - 100 px in size replicating a finger vs having a pointer and it'd move much faster as opposed to the cursor now. it'd be something like those touch screen demos you see online of people showing off their prodcuts for the touch screen.
