When I first start up the simulator the screen looks fine and covers the full width but when I start an app the screen width reduces to about 600 pixels.
When I then close the app the whole screen area seems to have adopted this new width and the only solution is to reboot the simulator.
I do specify the width and height in my apps:
[SWF(width="1024", height="600", backgroundColor="#cccccc", frameRate="30")]
Any idea why this is happening?
I use Flash CS5 and the command prompt to develop Playbook apps. I have all the SDK's installed and working.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Was a simple fix in the end.
Had to change 1 line in the XML file:
<aspectRatio>portrait</aspectRatio> to <aspectRatio>landscape</aspectRatio>
Don't know why I didn't see that earlier...

That is not so obvious, especially when you close app, the simulator stays in that state, it's confusing.(they should fix it) Thank's for writing solution I had the same problem.
