another error for blackberry-keytool

Hi,

I'm getting an access denied error when running blackberry-keytool -genkey.....

The exact command is:

blackberry-keytool -genkeypair -keystore myCertificate.p12 -storepass myPass1 -dname "cn=<Impact Partners Inc.>" -alias author

I've tried it with and without the "<>" brackets in the company name portion.   When running this, I get the error:

keytool error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: myCertificate.p12 (Access is denied)

Well, of course the file doesn't exist, it's SUPPOSED to be created.  And there is complete write permission for that directory.

What could be the problem?

Thanks!

Re: another error for blackberry-keytool

The CN needs to exactly match what was used when you requested the keys from the RIM website.

Are you logged in as admin?

Re: another error for blackberry-keytool

I assume you are working in windows? Make sure you run command prompt as administrator, or it won't have the proper rights to create the file.

You should also not have < or > anywhere in your command. Remember, also, that this company name much match exactly, including case, the one on your other (RDK) signing key.

Re: another error for blackberry-keytool

I had checked the permissions and I had write permissions, but yes, it was the windows Admin thing.  I didn't have ADMIN priveliges even though my user was supposed to be admin.

That fixed it.

Thanks!!
