app accidentally deleted

A customer who purchased my app, accidentally deleted it and it does not appear in their uninstalled list.  How can they reinstall without repurchasing?

I tried asking RIM vendor portal support, but they want $250 up front.

Any suggestions?

Re: app accidentally deleted

Suggest that they go through the first steps of purchasing again, clicking on the Purchase button and entering their BBID credentials if necessary, but stopping before they see the "Buy Now" button. Or, if they get that far but it shows the price as $0.00, continue on.

I believe this will resolve it, but I don't think I've seen confirmation yet. If it works for your customer, please post back here with confirmation so we can tell others the same, with confidence it works.

Re: app accidentally deleted

I've had this happen to me (as a user), peter9477 is correct. The app didn't appear in my uninstalled list buy when I hit purchase then entered my BBID it said "you have already purchased this item" in place of where the confirmation screen normally is. It then started the download.

Re: app accidentally deleted

Just ask for the user's BlackBerry ID and add it to your sandbox. That way he/she will be able to install it free of charge regardless of RIM's mistakes.

Re: app accidentally deleted

In the vendor portal, you can add BBID to the "sandbox" where those users would have free access to your application.

Re: app accidentally deleted

Beware if you add a user to your sandbox account, they will have free access to all your application, you cannot restrict the access per-app.

Re: app accidentally deleted

I also have a customer that just came to me with the same problem - said the app disappeared after a reboot,  It did not show up in his Uninstalled list for reinstall, so I referred him to attempt the purchase button and login fix.  Awaiting to see if that worked.

Re: app accidentally deleted

Customer reports back to me that it is fixed by doing the steps above.
