Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

Yes. Existing purchase can't be retrieved. It's very strange, because when customer didn't buy digital good and want to buy, error code 30242 appears. When customer bought digital good before os upgrade and start app, digital good is not retrieved. When customer bought digital good before os upgrade and click "buy" button again information that digital good is already bought appears.

It is luko LAN Player app:

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

I just tested on my PlayBook running the external version of 2.1.0 and am able to successfully purchase the full version of luko LanPlayer.

Is everyone experiencing this problem?

Are you able to reproduce in house? If so, how was the app loaded to your device?

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

Quick question, when you check for existing purchases do you check both App World cache as well as the server? The Cache will most likely get removed with an OS upgrade.

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

Did You test it on 2.1.0.1032?

I am having this error on this version of PlayBook OS.

On os 2.1 beta it was working fine too.

I think that everybody has that problem because nothing was purchased since 4th of october and I am getting complaints from customers about this error.

Yep, 2.1.0.1032

How about the question from my l;ast post:
"Quick question, when you check for existing purchases do you check both App World cache as well as the server? The Cache will most likely get removed with an OS upgrade."?

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

When application starts and detects internet connection it checks existing purchases from app world server, when there is no internet connection it checks cache.

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

You now have something to ask your users Smiley Happy Make sure you check the App World server cache,

As well it is definitely recommended that you keep a local copy of purchases so your application does not need to rely on App World at all.

User here.
After catching up on this thread and now being on PB 2.1, decided to try my problematic purchase again. No success.

Remember this is with an in-app purchase from a free app, in this case the game Radiant Defense by Hexage.
So there's no refund I can request, per that suggestion.

Are you getting a 30242?

Yep, Error Id: 30242 every time.

I even tried again this morning after restarting the PB for good measure.

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

But now nobody can buy this app. Nobody can use it.

I've tested it on my PlayBook and it doesn't work after os upgrade.

I have many mails from customers saying that they can't buy this app (they get 30242 too).

I think it is something wrong with server/virtual good because it's locked for me. I can't change anything with it (price, desctiption...)

Re: in-app purchase error code 30242

Digital Goods can only be purchased once, so it is expected to fail if users are trying to re-purchase.

How was the app loaded to your device? Have you ever purchased this Digital Good in the past?

Can you reproduce on a device that has never purchased this app in the past? Alternateively could you wipe your PlayBook and try to purchase using a different BBID?

Keep in mind that I am not experiencing this issue, so it is not affecting everybody. I definitely empathize, but want to keep the information clear for the purposes of troubleshooting.
