java path for blackberry tools?

I'm trying to do all this app signing and running into too many issues non-app-related issues.

I am running the blackberry tools from cmd in windows, right?

What should my path be?  I keep getting 'java is not a recognized ...." and blackberry stops.

I explicitly set my path to:

set PATH="C:\Windows\system32"

and a few variations on that.  This is where java.exe is located.

What am I missing?  I can't sign squat without this.
