Re: multitasking?

Unfortunately you can't with AIR mobile. You would do it through workers though - http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/system/Worker.html

Re: multitasking?

Unfortunately, workers are not supported on AIR Mobile.

Note: The use of workers for concurrency is only supported in Flash Player and in AIR on desktop platforms. Concurrency is not supported on mobile AIR platforms. You can use the static isSupported property to check whether concurrency is supported before attempting to use it.

No multitasking, no threads. You have to live without them.

Re: multitasking?

Use a URLLoader and add an event listener for Event.COMPLETE to it to do AJAX-y asyc content loading.
