textinput/textarea steals touch input

Since 2.0, it appears that when using flex native textinput or textarea object, even if they're underneath another display object, they steal the touch input.  I have custom drop-down buttons made with standar button and list objects.  The list object displays over a text area.  If I touch an item in the list that's over the text area, it focuses into the text area and the keyboard pops up.  Nothing gets selected from the list.  I've worked around it by using a UIComponent and sticking a qnx textarea object in there but they're not as customizable as the native one.  For example, the background color.  Is there something special I need to do so I don't have to go through all my apps and switch to qnx objects?  I'd prefer to stick with MXML.

I've also noticed that now when using labels, regardless if they're set behind everything, they show on top.  Even if you programatically hide a container with a label, the label stays.

Not sure about your first, question, but...

This may be caused by the font you are using. Device fonts (_sans, _serif, _typewriter) don't support transparency, rotation etc. Also, if you have used a custom font but have not correctly embedded it, Flash won't be able to find it and use the default device font instead.
