white band at bottom of stage

I managed to get FB4 building to simulator 0.9.3 ok, but there is a 24 pixel tall band at the bottom of the stage area. It overlaps the stage, it's not that the stage is squashed at all. What would cause that?

are you developing in MXML format or ActionScript only format? also a screenshot would help us get a better picture of it. thanks!

Re: white band at bottom of stage

Is that the same thing that was answered in this thread?

Re: white band at bottom of stage

Thanks for the world's fastest reply!

So you know, I desperately want to just stay in Flash Professional, so just go ahead and send me the packager right away! I'm more than up to date on Flash, and just yearning to have an easier time of making PlayBook apps.

Meanwhile, the only way I could figure out how to get my Flash piece to work easily via FB4 was to make a new Flex Project and to place an mxSmiley FrustratedWFLoader on the stage, and point that to my swf as the source. It works remarkably well, other than the coordinates of things are off by half the stage width and height, but I can work around that.

I would hope that a screenshot wouldn't be needed, not that I mind sending you one, but it would suggest you have no imagination at all! Just picture the 1024x600 landscape of the PlayBook as being a 1024x600 picture, only the bottom 1024x24 pixels are covered by a solid white box.

Re: white band at bottom of stage

if its in MXML, then its most likely the showStatusBar issue that peter posted about with the link. good luck!

Re: white band at bottom of stage

Hi Peter,

It is most likely the same issue (I would have found it, only I searched for "white bar" and not "gray bar", because the bar is white!). Unfortunately when I try adding:

 showStatusBar="false"

FB4 puts a red X at the start of the line. If I ignore that, and tell it to proceed, I still get the white bar.

Latest news... I had tried putting the attribute next to where width and the other things were, but that was inside SWFLoader. It does work fine if I don't put it with width, but instead put it alongside the namespace lines.

This is all probably obvious stuff to Flex developers!

Anyway, thank you both, things are good now.
