BB10 Media player video playback disregards EXIF 'Rotation' metadata

I have an MP4 video that has the following metadata embedded in the EXIF header that is added to the file when it is recorded.

...

Image Size : 320x240
Rotation : 270

The Z10 basically plays this video rotated clockwise by 90°

Is there any (programmatic) way to play this video properly, i.e. rotated by 270° so it is "upright"

Some additional background - the video is from a recording made by an Android app that sets the rotation orientation hint when the video is recorded. The same app ported to Runrime for Android app on BB10 results in the same data being written to the file. the BB10 Camera app simply adjusts the WxH in the MP4 header for portrait vs. landscape videos. It'd be great if I  can get the Z10 playing all videos recorded by different devices.

Thanks!
