Finding devices on network with Bonjour/Zeroconf/jmDNS on PlayBook

I just learned that android permission

is not supported on Blackberry or PlayBook. Preference is

needed for jmDND (Bonjour) protocol to work.

I am creating an app which needs to find other

devices on a local network. Can you give me some suggestions

what would be the best way to achieve that on PlayBook.

Is Bonjour possible if building with native SDK or Adobe AIR?

Re: Finding devices on network with Bonjour/Zeroconf/jmDNS on PlayBook

Unfortunately, there is no native support for Bonjour in BlackBerry as of yet, it might be possible to code your own native implementation though, for AIR, this would need to be an AIR Native Extension, as AIR still doesn't support UDP on mobile devices (so no UDP in AIR on PlayBook or BB10 without ANE).

This post http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Native-Development/Is-there-a-library-for-Bonjour-mdns-connec... details one of my attempts, didn't found the time to look further yet...
